Teaching & Learning

The Cape Embroiderers’ Guild is very lucky to have amongst its members some very experienced and talented teachers of embroidery.
These tutors offer workshops, both through the Guild and privately, covering an enormous range of skills and techniques.

There are classes for beginners and also for children, as well as for the more advanced and experienced embroiderer.

The Guild holds on-going Saturday morning workshops on different embroidery techniques, including BLACKWORK, PULLED-WORK & SURFACE STITCHERY.

These workshops are held in St Thomas's Church Hall, Rondebosch
on the second Saturday morning
in March, May, July, September & November, from 9:30 to 12:30.

The Children's Workshops, held on these same days, are aimed at giving young children a chance to enjoy the art of stitching. These Children's Workshops are always a great success and enjoyed by the youngsters.

The cost per workshop is R30 for adults: free for children.

Details of classes and workshops can be found at meetings, in the Newsletter and from Threadneedle Street, where several teachers run their classes.
